Where are you today?

You do not need to know which treatment to choose to get started. These entry points help you find your way; your care can then combine several approaches.

Could obesity surgery help you?

It is a recognised option for some people. An assessment consultation helps determine whether it is indicated for you.

What the consultation clarifies

Surgical expertise

Dr Pierre Fournier, FMH specialist in surgery, is head of the Department of Surgery at Hôpital de Nyon (GHOL). The team’s operations take place there; the hospital is recognised as a primary centre by the SMOB.

Preparation and follow-up as a team

An assessment adapted to your situation, a decision made collectively with you, then long-term follow-up.

Preparation and assessment

When an operation requires a specialist referral centre, we organise your care in Geneva (HUG), Lausanne or Neuchâtel, depending on your situation. Wherever possible, and with the agreement of the host centre, Dr Pierre Fournier performs your operation there himself.

Understanding your situation before choosing a treatment

Your health is more than a number on the scales.

We first take the time to understand your history, then we set the goals with you.

Your care pathway in four stages
  1. Meeting youTaking stock of your history, your health and your expectations.
  2. Assessing your needsMedical assessment, body composition and other opinions as your situation requires.
  3. Deciding togetherA decision shared with you; for surgery, a joint decision by the multidisciplinary team.
  4. Supporting you over timeFollow-up adapted to your needs, in liaison with your GP.

A team of professionals working together for you

The Centre is led by Dr Pierre Fournier. Depending on your needs, professionals in obesity medicine, dietetics, mental health and physical activity are involved, at the Centre or within our care network. The appointments team coordinates your appointments.
