Key points

Rediscovering the pleasure of moving is part of your journey. After obesity surgery, a gradual, supervised return to activity helps you regain confidence, at your own pace.

Thanks to our partnership with Clinique La Lignière, physical rehabilitation can begin early after surgery, depending on your state of health and the team’s instructions.

Rediscovering the pleasure of moving

An activity you enjoy is more likely to last. Walking, swimming, cycling or strength training: the choice is made with you, according to your wishes, your constraints and the team’s advice.

Regular movement also helps preserve muscle mass during weight loss.

Gradual support

The aim is not performance. It is first about getting back to simple movements, such as getting up, walking or climbing stairs, and then gradually increasing activity at a pace suited to your recovery and physical condition.

Our partnership with Clinique La Lignière means this return to activity can be organised with rehabilitation professionals, depending on your state of health and the team’s instructions. The Centre will tell you how it works and arrange your referral.

If you feel apprehensive

Tiredness in the first few days, scars, breathlessness, memories of difficult experiences with sport or worry about how others will look at you: it is common to approach a return to activity with caution, sometimes with anxiety. These reactions are understandable and can be discussed with the team.
