The Centre

English-speaking and international patients

Consultations in English in every discipline, secretariat included: international organisations, people operated on abroad, insurance and preparing your visit to Nyon.

Key points

The Centre welcomes English-speaking patients: consultations can be held in English, with Dr Pierre Fournier as well as with the secretariat and the Centre’s other professionals. The whole website is available in English.

You can come to the Centre if you live in the region, work for an international organisation or have had surgery abroad.

Who can come to the Centre?

  • people who live on La Côte, in the Geneva area or in neighbouring France;
  • staff of international organisations and companies in the region, and their families;
  • people who have had surgery elsewhere, in Switzerland or abroad, and would like follow-up or an opinion.

Language of consultations

Consultations can be held in English in every discipline: obesity medicine, surgery, dietetics, mental health and physical activity. The secretariat also answers in English, by phone and in writing. Simply state your preferred language when you request an appointment.

Insurance and costs

In Switzerland, obesity surgery can be covered by basic health insurance when the required conditions are met.

If you are insured outside the Swiss system — through an international organisation, a private international insurer or a foreign insurer — check with your insurer before the consultation what it covers and whether it requires prior approval.

Preparing for your visit

  • your recent medical reports and, if you have had surgery, the operation report, in French or English if possible;
  • a list of your medicines and supplements;
  • your questions.

The Centre is in Nyon, between Geneva and Lausanne, next to Hôpital de Nyon.
